Landlady
Gloria is a young psychologist who has decided not to give up her passion
for gardening and her love of welcoming guests into her home, which is why
she opens her country house to visitors who want to spend a few days savouring
the peace and quiet of the surrounding woods, only 5 km from the historic
town of Asti and 2 km from the Asti-West exit of the Turin-Piacenza motorway.
The house nestles in a nature reserve five minutes' walk from the "Valleandona
and Vale Botta" Palaeontology Park, and visitors can enjoy the scenery
on horseback, thanks to the many riding stables in the area, or by mountain
bike.
Meals are not only generous but above all natural - all the produce on Gloria's
table is organic, fresh from her orchard and vegetable garden, or from the
cows and chickens of the friendly neighbouring farmers.

If you're a wine lover, a visit is a must. Not only will Gloria be able
to point you to all the region's best cellars (she's a member of a wine-producers'
association), but in honour of your arrival she'll be pleased to welcome
you with a taste of the wines grown around Asti and Alba that are usually
reserved for the producers' close friends. Anyone staying for a least a
couple of nights will be given a special gift of a bottle of the local wine.
Take a look through the guides on offer which contain all the useful information
about the area, from the best Piedmontese restaurants (together with price
lists), to the recommended itineraries for visitors, to the shows of typical
produce and all the area's traditional events |
A word about this: the best time to visit the area is undoubtedly from the
beginning of September to the end of November, when it's one food and wine
event after the other, and you will be able to sample not only the wines
but some wonderful dishes with truffles and mushrooms. And on the third
Sunday in September, remember there's the Palio, the traditional horse race,
when the town turns out in Medieval costume for the annual procession..
If your passion is gardening, you'll enjoy Gloria's gardens, which we can
tell you in advance that she's planning to turn into a visitor attraction.
Just one last thing
the house cat is rather possessive and isn't happy
about seeing other four-legged guests around
